MAITREYA (THE FUTURE) BUDDHA

Maitreya Buddha is next Buddha who will come to Earth. In Sanskrit, Maitreya means “love” or “friendliness”. He is considered the 5th Buddha of the Five Buddhas.  Maitreya Buddha will come after Buddha Shakyamuni; and is also the last Buddha who will come down to Earth in this eon.

The statue of Maitreya Buddha in pure bronze has a size of 10.5m tall, is one of the Maitreya Buddha statues in the standard Vajrayana Buddhist form. 

 Walking with mindfulness around the Maitreya Buddha Statue is a way to pay respect to the future Buddha.

The world's largest prayer wheel is covered with 24k gold-plated copper. In the prayer wheel are countless Om Mani Padme Hum mantras printed on thin tissue paper and auspicious items such as relics of Buddha, relics of saints.

A butter lamp house is a place for offering light to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions and three times. This is to accumulate merit and purify the obscurations of all sentient beings. In general, the purpose offering butter lamps is to remove the suffering that comes from the darkness of ignorance and wrong views.

The gate to the Vajrayana Buddhist Spiritual and Cultural Space – Drigung Kagyu Samten Ling Vietnam marks the threshold between movement and stillness, inviting each visitor to quiet the mind and begin the journey of return.
Himalayan Check-in Point
