On March 7, 2022, at Samten Hills Dalat, Lam Dong, Vietnam Union of UNESCO Associations officially awarded “Certificate of Spiritual Cultural Space for Vajrayana Buddhist Space at Samten Hills Dalat, Vietnam Nam was created by the Most Venerable Drubwang Sonam Jorfel Rinpoche of the Drigung Kagyu lineage, in preserving and promoting the value of Vajrayana Buddhism in Vietnam.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests such as Ladakh’s representative in the House of Representatives of India, Venerable Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Ladakh Executive Commissioner, Tashi Gyalson, Mr. Tashi Gyalson; The President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association, Mr. Shri. Thupstan Chhewang. At the same time, there were also the presence of leaders of Lam Dong province, dignitaries of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Church and the Vietnamese Buddhist Church of Lam Dong province; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Huan, Standing Member of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Chief of Office 1, and Standing Deputy of the Central Committee of Information and Communication; Most Venerable Thich Minh Nghiem, Standing Member of the Executive Council of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Phu Tho Province . There are also local journalists, as well as the Sangha and the faithful. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by the head of the Indian Drigung Kagyu lineage H.H. Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche and representatives of Vietnamese religious dignitaries.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Manh – Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of UNESCO Associations emphasized that “The award of the Certificate of the Vietnam Union of UNESCO Associations is meaningful to introduce to the community. We agree with the precious architectural and spiritual values of the Diamond Buddhist space and wish to encourage the preservation, protection and promotion of valuable cultural heritages for future generations”.
With the support of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lam Dong province and the certification of the Vietnam Union of UNESCO Associations, the Vajrayana Buddhist cultural and spiritual space at Samten Hills Dalat is the wish of the Most Venerable Venerable Master. Drubwang Sonam Jofel and his students, in order to contribute to opening the flow of Vajrayana Buddhism in Vietnam with the seeds of awakening, enlightenment and compassion, where peace is felt, joy spreads, where people can easily feel and worship at the space of Buddhist spiritual and cultural heritage right in Vietnam.
